www.tomcrean.com When I lived in Annascaul on the Dingle Peninsula I set up the website on the life of Tom crean and was involed in establishing the Tom Crean Society. I also had the pleasure to be part of the fund raising group that erected the statue to Tom in the garden opposite The South Pole Inn. And in 2004 I participated in a Tom Crean Society trip to Antarctica. The life of Tom Crean is fascinating an ordinary Kerryman who was an integral part of three Antarctic expeditions from 1901 to 1917. Watch the clip below to learn more about Tom Crean.

Carmel the owner and chef is a powerhouse of energy and enthusiasm never mind a fabulous chef. One of my hiking groups last year were lucky enough to sample Carmels cooking, to experience it is one of lifes pleasures. Dont pass this place when you see it right outside the village of Durrus.
